Silverburn Park is due to host the two-day Fife Fest between September 11-12, with a range of big name tribute acts set to perform.

Definitely Oasis, Kings of Lyon, The Freddie and Queen Experience and Ultimate Coldplay are among the bands which will be hitting the stage next year, along with a number of local bands.

The event has been organised by Jordan Black, his first attempt at preparing a music festival.

“It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do,” he said.

“We do mobile catering and do a lot of festivals. That gave me the idea.

“We originally wanted to do it in November, but Covid knocked that on the head. It gives us a bit of extra time.”

With a vaccine now being rolled out and a miserable 2020 coming to an end, it is hoped the festival will bring a bit of optimism heading into the new year.

Jordan said many big event organisers have started making arrangements to return in 2021, giving him more confidence about his new venture.

“It’s a tribute festival with some of the top tribute bands in the UK,” he said.

“Tribute acts are a great hit and have a big following.

“After the new year I’ll start contacting a lot of the local acts.

“It’s two full days of music, but the tickets are pretty cheap so the whole family can come along.”

Fife Fest will be the second music festival to be hosted at the park, with Silverburn Festival taking place in August.

Jordan said he has had support from the team behind Silverburn Festival, which has grown to become one of the biggest musical events in the Kingdom over the last few years.

“Silverburn is a fantastic location for a festival,” he said.

“I’ve been working with the team there. Hopefully we can complement each other.”

Tickets are now on sale – and Jordan admits that it was nerve-wracking to see how much interest there would be in the event.

“There’s been a good response,” he explained.

“It’s a big risk – these bands are not cheap. I was nervous to see if anyone bought a ticket – but they’ve been selling well.

“This first one is a test, but if it is a success I’d like to make it an annual thing.”

Shuttle buses will be running from Leven, the East Neuk and Cupar, as there will be no parking on site.
