Nine more Fife schools and nurseries linked to positive COVID tests since weekend

Nine more schools across Fife are being investigated for links to positive CPVID cases since the weekend.

The latest update from NHS Fife included one nursery and four primary and secondary schools as they all prepare for the final week of term.

They have all the subject of investigations into additional COVID-19 reported between Friday and Sunday.

One positive case was linked to Carleton Nursery in Glenrothes.

There are single COVID cases at Carleton, Buckhaven Primary and Kirkcaldy North - plus two linked to St Paul’s Primary, Glenrothes.

Auchmuty High School in Glenrothes has been linked to two positive cases, while there are single cases at three Kirkcaldy’s secondaries - Balwearie, Kirkcaldy High and St Andrew’s.

NHS Fife lists cases if there has been an impact on the school or if action is needed to be taken.

More than one case does not necessarily suggest transmission within the school and may relate to a household group, or separate incidences of community-acquired infection.
