The event is due to be held on Saturday, July 18, between 10am-4pm, and is the first to be organised by Levenmouth Together since the lockdown began earlier this year.

The market will feature stalls selling arts and crafts and homeware, with food and drink vendors, and live music.

Unlike the group’s previous events, including Sun, See and Sound, Leven RunFest, The Leven Food and Drink Festival and the seasonal Fayre in the Square, this one will happen at BRAG’s Levenmouth Community Enterprise Centre (Thomson House) at the docks in Lower Methil.

However, it could be moved to Shorehead as things return to normal.

The event will include new social distancing measures to comply with government guidelines.

Brian Robertson-Fern, from Levenmouth Together and BRAG, said: “There will be a queuing system in place, but we will have live entertainment to combat the inevitable waiting time.

“Local volunteer stewards will also be on hand to point visitors in the right direction on our one-way system, although I would make it clear we cannot offer on-site toilet facilities, so we do ask visitors to bear that in mind when arranging their visit.

“We will also be restricting the consumption of food and drink on-site, although it is available for people to take away.”

Any profits generated are a way to raise funds for the local community chest.

This chest is available for local groups to access.

More importantly the event is a chance to give local people the first, tentative steps to life after lockdown. It will also help small, local traders to re-establish their businesses.

Despite the cancellation of two of their planned events, the events team has still been busy during lockdown and has been a pivotal part of the Levenmouth emergency food distribution service.
