Plans to help bring sparkle back to Kinghorn this Christmas

Plans are afoot to bring some festive cheer back to Kinghorn after what has been a challenging year for everyone.

With the old Christmas lights on the High Street broken and removed by Fife Council, a sub group from Kinghorn Community Council is working hard on funding replacements to put a sparkle back into the village.

Covid-19 has delayed discussions on the replacement lights, and caused problems with fundraising events that were being planned no longer able to take place.

But the group are determined there will be new lights this December.

A JustGiving page has been set up for anyone who would like to contribute here.

The group has applied for council funding, however these grants if successful would need to be matched by their own fundraising efforts.

Lesley Weaver, from the sub group, said: “Sadly, the events like the big band and race nights cannot at the moment go ahead. However, a coffee morning is a possibility and we will look into arranging this and will put details on our Facebook page - Kinghorn Christmas Lights.”
