Plea to Fife dog lovers to give home to young at heart Hendrix

An appeal has gone out to dog lovers in Fife a bid to find a new home for an old collie cross.

The 14-year old dog, named Handsome Hendrix, is currently in the care of animal welfare experts at the Scottish SPCA’s rescue and rehoming centre at Petterden, which covers Fife, Angus and Tayside.

Dale Christie, assistant manager, said: “Hendrix still fancies himself as a pup at heart. Despite his age, he loves to play fetch.

“However, he has arthritis in his back legs and, whilst he is on long-term pain medication, it means he struggles with more strenuous exercise.

“Any potential new owner would have to consider the ongoing vet costs of looking after him, but he is absolutely worth it.”Dale said the collie would be ideally suited to a home with older children or adults only.

He added: “He’d love a house with plenty of comfy spots to snooze and no stairs to climb.
