The East Neuk O’ Fife Round Table has taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s fireworks event at Anstruther Harbour. The decision has been made because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and is in line with Scottish government advice regarding large gatherings.

Chairman Kevin McElhinney said: “Regrettably this decision was made for us, but we must follow the government guidance to protect lives, We are hoping that next year’s event in 2021 will go ahead.

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported our previous events, to all those who have filled our donation buckets, the local business who have generously contributed to this event year on year, and a very special thanks to Elizabeth Gordon and the committee of the Community Kist – without their substantial donations our successful firework displays would never have been possible.

“We would like to serve the community by donating the funds we have in place for the firework display to local community groups. We appreciate many local groups and charities have been working hard delivering vital services to the community during this difficult time and many groups will not have the opportunity to fundraise as usual. We are asking any local groups who could benefit from a donation from the East Neuk O’Fife Roundtable to email [email protected].”
