Popular Fife museum reopens today
Like other tourist attractions, the Scottish Fisheries Museum was forced to close its doors earlier this year because of the Covid-19 crisis, and, at one stage, there were concerns that it might be closed permanently without financial assistance.
But now the museum is ready to reopen – albeit with new measures in place to make sure that its visitors are kept safe.

Timed entry through the new online booking system will ensure that it can manage numbers and maintain physical distancing, keeping visitors and staff safe. Small groups of up to six people from one household will be able to visit the museum together and must book their visit in advance. The museum shop and tearoom will reopen on the same day (the tearoom is currently serving takeaway only). The toilets will only be open for museum and tearoom visitors.
The museum has increased the frequency and expanded the cleaning regime in these facilities each day. All visitors will be required to wear a face covering whilst in the buildings, at all times, unless seated in the tearoom.
The museum staff are “excited to open” with our new measures in place and “look forward to seeing visitors”.

He added: “We are now good to go and hopeful for the future.”
