Prince Philip: The Duke of Edinburgh's visits to Fife

Following the death of Prince Philip, we look back on his visits to the district in this special photo gallery.

From Falkland Palace to going underground at Rothes Colliery to a trip tp the Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes, the Duke of Edinburgh saw many sides to Fife during a number of visits over the decades.

He first came to the Kingdom in 1958, and returned with the Queen on several occasions, meeting civic leaders as well as local people.
