Fife Council is asking people in Guardbridge for their ideas about what is needed to help revive community life in the village.

A public consultation has been launched, with people and groups being asked to put forward proposals for projects which could earn a share of £20,000. After that stage is completed, residents will then be asked to vote for their favourites – with each project being able to secure a maximum of £5000.

The funding comes at a turning point for Guardbridge. The University of St Andrews’ Eden Campus will bring hundreds of workers to the village, while two new housing developments will see the village double in size over the next few years.

A consultation in 2016 identified the need for improvement in social aspects of Guardbridge, including opportunities for community interaction.

The consultation will run until September 4. To find out more, visit the website – our.fife.scot/guardbridgecommunity.
