The search is on to find the little girl who had her camera fixed by Prince Philip on a royal visit to Fife.

Pictures from our archive reveal the way the late Duke of Edinburgh helped a youngster capture a souvenir of his visit.

It happened in October 1976 when he visited the Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes.

Crowds of youngsters lined up to see him in the walkway to the mall, and the Prince spotted one young girl looking disappointed as she couldn’t get her camera to work.

He paused, took it and quickly solved the issue.
