It’s incredible to think that half a century has passed since these photographs first appeared in our pages.
13. Memories of 1972
Torbain (No 9) BB Platoon had a memorable season on the football pitch.
The junior and senior teams captured no fewer than five trophies between them.
As well as lifting the league, the juniors won the Autumn and Spring Cups, while the seniors claimed the Spring Cup and Fife Cup.

Fife Flyers wrapped their season with awards to their star players.
They also received golf clubs and accessories from Swilken Golf Company of St Andrews.

Glenrothes Juniors retained the Fife Cup with a 4-1 win over Tulliallan. Goals came from McInnes, Goldie, Baker and Quinn.

The annual dinner dance of Rossleigh Ltd, Kirkcaldy, was in full swing at the Ollerton Hotel, Kirkcaldy, when the lights suddenly went out.
