Tornado in Fife town – ultra rare sight sparks interest on social media

A Fife town witnessed a rare tornado this afternoon.

The rare sight happened in Glenrothes, sparking a number of comments on social media platform Twitter /X. The mini tornado was spotted in the South Parks area of the town. The pictures were captured by Bill Hunter.

Tornadoes occur only very occasionally in the UK and most of them are so small they have little to no impact.
