Wind farm £12,000 funding support for six community groups in Fife town
Six local groups in a Fife town have scooped new financial backing.
The organisations in Kinglassie got a total of £11,700 from the Nadara Westfield Wind Farm Community Fund.
The largest single award of £6500 was made to Kinglassie Miners Charitable Society to replace the club's ageing heating system with a new, more efficient ceramic model. The upgrade is expected to reduce running and maintenance costs and help to improve the experience of the club for its users.
Cancer Card received £1700 to contribute to the cost of expanding the role of a Community Support Officer. This additional funding will allow them to run extra support sessions, provide a helpline, and deliver digital training to address the challenges faced by rural cancer patients and their families.

Glenrothes & District Foodbank got £1500 to help with the cost of food parcels, supporting individuals and families in Kinglassie, and ensuring continued emergency food provision through 2026/2027.
The fund is supported by independent charity Foundation Scotland, and decisions are made by a Panel of local residents, ensuring that funding stays rooted in the needs and priorities of the communities it serves.
As well as standard grantmaking through applications, the panel also made several proactive, awards, identifying key local groups that support the community. These awards will help local organisations with their running costs and to deliver one-off Christmas events.
Kinglassie Primary School PTA received £1000 to support a school Christmas pantomime and a treat for pupils while £500 went to the Tae Kwon Do group towards running costs, with Kinglassie Community Council acting as the anchor organisation to administer the award. A further £500 was awarded to Kinglassie Toddler Group for a ‘Breakfast with Santa’ event.
This latest round of awards reflects the decision-making panel's focus on supporting projects that respond to community need. From upgrading community assets and supporting people through illness, to tackling food insecurity and bringing children and older residents together, these projects will benefit people of all ages across Kinglassie.
Grants of up to £4000 are typically available from the Nadara Westfield Wind Farm Community Fund with higher awards considered in exceptional circumstances where projects can demonstrate significant community impact.
