The popular family-friendly event, organised by Kinghorn in Bloom, took place from Saturday, August 22 to Sunday, August 30 and once again attracted locals and visitors alike.

Those walking the trail around the village were encouraged to cast their vote and help decide the 2020 winners in three categories – family/child, adult and business/club.

Those scarecrows to have received the most votes were the Annands in the family category with their Minions design.

The other two winners were Covid-19 inspired.

Sandra Martin’s ‘staycation’ topped the adult category, while Villa Atina Care Home won for the business/club.

Liz Mitchell, who organises the event, said: “We have received many wonderful comments from the Scarecrow Trail participants and we would like to thank them as well as all the scarecrow makers and the Kinghorn in Bloom volunteers who made this event possible.

“The trail has been a resounding success.

"We hope next year will be even bigger and better.”

This year was the eighth trail organised by Kinghorn in Bloom and it attracted 45 entries covering all areas of Kinghorn from Sandhills Caravan Park on the Burntisland Road to Croft an Righ on the Kirkcaldy side and from Kinghorn Harbour to the new houses by the loch.

The event is a great fundraiser for Kinghorn in Bloom with participants paying £1 for a map to show the scarecrow locations.
