Police appeal after car is stolen

Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following a housebreaking where a black Mercedes GLA car was stolen.

The incident happened at an address in Knapphill, Dunfermline, on Wednesday (August 24) between 10pm and 11.30pm.

The car has since been recovered outwith Fife, however there has been a recent spate of similar crimes in the area where it appears that high value motorcars have been specifically targeted.

Detective Sergeant Kelly McEwan of Dunfermline CID said: “Although this vehicle has been recovered, we are still eager to trace those responsible.

“Anyone with information regarding this crime, or any similar incidents are asked to contact police as soon as possible.

“We would like to remind members of the public to take extra care regarding the security of their home and vehicles and ensure all doors are locked, even when you are at home, and all car keys are kept in a secure place, out of easy reach.”
