POLICE investigation the serious road crash on the A91 this week have appealed for witnesses.

Deputy head of road policing, Inspector Brenda Sinclair said: “Police officers attended a serious crash on the A91 about 1 mile to the west of Cupar at 1.45pm [Tuesday] where a blue Vauxhall Astra, which had been travelling toward Cupar, had collided with a double decked service bus travelling in the opposite direction.

“As a consequence of the collision, the 65 year-old man driving the Astra suffered life threatening injuries. He was taken by ambulance, under police escort, to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, where his condition is still given as serious. I would appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the collision or saw the Astra being driven prior to the accident to come forward by calling Fife Police on 0845 600 5702.”
