Detective Inspector John Anderson who is based in Levenmouth said: “We believe the break-in was committed shortly before 3am this morning when the petrol station was closed and the persons responsible have remained in the area for a considerable period of time.

“The area and roads would have been quiet at that time of night and it is possible that members of the public may have noticed persons or a vehicle parked nearby.

“Whilst it may not have seemed suspicious at the time, this may now be important to our investigation.”

Those with information can contact police on 101 or alternatively if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
