Police in Fife hunt laser culprit after Dundee-bound plane targeted
The incident happened around 8pm on Sunday (February 28) when a light aircraft carrying three passengers was making its descent into Dundee.
The pilot was targeted by a laser device, which was shone into the cockpit.

Hide AdAlthough distracted, the pilot was able to land the plane at Dundee without incident.
It has been established that the person responsible for shining the laser device and targeting the plane was in the Methil area of Fife when the incident occurred.
Inspector Tom Brown of Levenmouth said: “It beggars belief that someone would be so stupid as to endanger a plane and its passengers in this manner.
“There has been a lot of media coverage this week with regard to this type of this behaviour and the danger it poses to the pilot and passengers.

Hide Ad“Our inquiries are ongoing but, through coordinates provided by the aircraft controller, we have been able to locate the area where the device was shone from.”
