Police investigate serious assault in Glenrothes

Police are continuing their enquiries after a serious assault in Glenrothes yesterday evening (Wednesday).

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed that officers are investigating the incident after a 30-year-old man was attacked and injured in Malcolm Road in the Auchmuty area of the town at around 8pm.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

“Inquiries are at an early stage although officers are following a number of positive lines of inquiry and believe this to be an isolated incident,

“There will be a more visible police presence in the area around Malcolm Road in the meantime,” the spokesman added.
