Police are continuing their search for two men from East Wemyss who went missing when their boat capsized in the Firth of Forth earlier this month.

The investigation into the disappearance of David Stead (47) and Jason Buchan (35) is still ongoing, over two weeks since the incident off the coast of East Wemyss, during which a third man, Birrell Stewart (30), died.

Police Scotland also confirmed that results from forensic tests on partial human remains, found on a St Andrews beach last week, have still to be revealed.

Meanwhile, the families and friends of the missing men have been conducting searches of their own in an attempt to trace the men.

On Saturday, a number of people gathered to look along the coast from Kirkcaldy to Elie, and some were out searching again last night (Tuesday).

Chief Inspector Adrian Annandale, area commander for Levenmouth and north east Fife said: “We continue to liaise with the families of James Buchan and David Stead and our thoughts are with them at this distressing time.”
