Councillor Tim Brett noted that Fife has received £7 million in EU funding in that period.

“As we are now approaching the end of our time in the EU, I was interested to receive information on how much funding Fife has got over the last three years,” Cllr Brett said.

“The answer at the last council meeting was that nearly £7 million has come into Fife through a number of different programmes during this time.

“Whilst the debate on membership of the EU will no doubt continue, my major concern is that this funding, which helped in a number of different ways, will no longer be coming to Fife in 2021.

“The UK Government has indicated that it intends to replace this funding but, as yet there is no detail on this. Many projects and support for different groups has come to Fife over this period and it is a worry that this will not be continuing, at least in its present form, in the future”.
