Change of use plan for former Fife pub and restaurant
A former pub and restaurant in Fife could be turned into a house if councillors approve new plans.
Iain Fraser has submitted a planning application to Fife Council for a change of use at the former Dairsie Inn, Cupar.
A supporting statement said the inn was at one point two dwellings, and these were combined and extended to provide a restaurant/bar, conservatory, kitchen facilities and toilets on the ground floor with owner’s accommodation on the first floor
It added: “It is proposed to carry out internal alterations and some relatively minor works to the outside of the former Inn to form a bedroom family home.

“The inn is a substantial, traditionally built two-storey property with the neighbouring buildings on Main Street mainly being single storey cottages. It is not a listed building and there are no nearby listed buildings.
“It is not considered that the proposal would result in any disamenity to any neighbouring residential properties, given that it was formerly a restaurant and public house that would have been a far more intensive use in relation to neighbourhood concerns such as noise and disturbance.” Councillors will consider the application in due course.
