On average, it is equivalent to 15 staff being off every single day having either tested positive for the virus or shown symptoms.

Fife Council has around 17,800 employees.

However, the impact on the council is slight when compared with general illness. More than 135,000 days of sick leave not related to coronavirus were recorded in the same time period - or 28 days of other illnesses for every one day of Covid.
