Icy streets hit bin collections across Fife

Household bins have gone uncollected across Fife after crews couldn’t get into icy streets.

The scheduled collections encountered problems this morning as wintry conditions hit every town and village.

Fife Council said some crews had struggled to safely access icy roads across the region.As a result, some bins have not been emptied.

The local authority has urged householders to leave them at the kerbside, and they will be dealt with as quickly as possible.

In a tweet, it confirmed there had been problems across the region.
