New Fife nursery plans yurt to give toddlers some shelter

Plans have been lodged to put a yurt into the National Activity Centre at Fordell Firs in west Fife.

Little Bugs Nursery, which is in the process of launching, also wants to add a storage shed to its facilities.

It already has approval to operate an outdoor nursery within the centre’s grounds - this new application is to get approval for the yurt which would be used to give the children shelter.

It would replace a portable cabin which is no longer fit for purpose and would be removed.

In February, Little Bugs got the go ahead to operate.

It is currently in the final stages of inspection with the Care Inspectorate and expects to have a full day care registration granted by the end of next month.

It plans to work with Fife Council to provide funded hours for eligible two-to five-year-olds, opening in mid-summer.

The application will be considered in due course.
