The competition is designed to inspire people to get active and get healthy - and keep them active during the two-week long school holidays.

All entrants have to do is capture the fun of being outside by taking a photograph of something found outside while travelling actively, as well as coming up with a thought-provoking caption.

It all gets underway on October 12, and runs for the rest of the month.

Councillor Ross Vettraino, convener of the environment and protective services committee, said: “To be successful in combating climate change, we are urging local people to take action where they can to make a difference.

“If you can’t work from home, this may mean cycling or walking instead of driving to work, or travelling actively for fun or exercise."
