A statement from the local authority said it was now picking up all kerbside bins, however due to changes to the online bin calendars as moves were made to reintroduce cans/plastics and paper/cardboard collections, its team would lift the bins in the villages this weekend.

It said: “During the move back to paper collections some villages in the North East of Fife have had a significant period between their cans/plastics collections.

“Bins in these villages will be lifted as a one-off collection on Saturday.

“We fully apologise for any inconvenience.”

The council is carrying out collections of all its bins, but householders across the Kingdom are asked to continue to check the online bin calendar every Sunday as sometimes changes are being made to the date of pick ups due to staff shortages.
