The move comes as Scotland continues to ease its lockdown restrictions.

The local authority says it has cleansed the water systems at the sites to minimise the risk of Legionella, and teams have been working on improved cleaning plans to ensure the health and safety of users.

The toilets will be open in phases over the next six days.

Those opening on July 10 are Elie Harbour (noon to 6pm); Elie Ruby Bay – disabled block only (noon to 6pm); St Andrews West Sands block one (noon to 6pm); St Andrews East Sands (noon to 6pm); Craigtoun Park, St Andrews.

On Saturday, July 11 the facilities in Lochore Meadows, Anstruther, Cupar Fluthers, Elie Stenton Row, Falkland and St Andrews Church Square will re-open.
