Jenny Gilruth promoted in First Minister’s Cabinet reshuffle
The Mid Fife and Glenrothes politician was included in the reshuffle announced today by First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon. She was made Minister for Europe and international development.
The post comes four years after Ms Gilruth was first elected as an MSP, succeeding Tricia Marwick who had been the Scottish Parliament’s Presiding Officer.

Hide AdMs Sturgeon said the appointments– which also saw Kate Forbes replace disgraced Derek Mackay as finance secretary – “bring new talent into government and deliver a real focus, not only on driving forward our economy, but also on addressing the challenges of Brexit, increasing our population and ending Scotland’s contribution to the climate crisis”.
