Scottish election 2021: Big turnout of voters in key Fife seat

Fifers appear to have turned out in number at this year’s Scottish elections.

The first figures have just been released, and show that turnout for the North East Fife constituency was 67.85%.

That is up 4.64% on 2016.

The seat is one of three being counted today at two venues across Glenrothes - and it chimes with the trend across Scotland as turnout numbers are released.

Edinburgh Central turnout was 62.69 - up 5.39%

And in Falkirk East, the figure was 62.89%

That was a significant rise from 54.1% last time round.
