Polls close in Leven by-election

The polls have closed in the Leven, Kennoway and Largo by-election.

The count is set to get underway at Fife House in Glenrothes, with a result due, hopefully around midnight.

The first ballot box has been opened and the counting of postal votes is about to get underway.

There are five candidates contesting the seat vacated by SNP councillor,Ally Hunter.

They are Colin Davidson (Labour), Iain Morrice (Greens), Graham Ritchie (Tory), Alistair Suttie (SNP) and Steve Wood (Lib Dems).

Some 2608 postal votes were issued for the by-election.
