Posties in Cupar walked out for 24 hours on Saturday in support of a sacked colleague.
Dave Mitchell (57), who’s delivered mail in the area for almost 30 years, was dismissed by Royal Mail amid allegations of theft.
But he has always protested his innocence and in August a tribunal judge found there was ‘no basis’ for Royal Mail’s claims.
The judge ordered Royal Mail to give Mr Mitchell his job back - but they have said they will not do so ‘under any circumstances.’
Members of the Communication Workers’ Union voted overwhelmingly for strike action and on Saturday they were joined by supporters as they staged the walkout.
Mr Mitchell’s partner, Hilary Lumsden, who shot this video of the event, described the posties’ gesture as ‘humbling’ and ‘a selfless act of human kindness.’
