Work is set to begin early next year to improve the notorious ‘Postings Steps’ at Bell Inn Wynd in Kirkcaldy.
And to mark the £95,000 project, which will see work start in February, Cllr Neil Crooks, chairman of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee, met with Harry Cormie, chairman and Bill Harvey, manager of Kirkcaldy 4 All.
Cllr Crooks said: “Kirkcaldy Area Committee awarded over £47,000 to contribute towards this project, replacing both the steps and handrails, from the Council’s Town Centre Development Fund last year. It goes without saying that the improvements are greatly welcomed to improve the accessibility of these particular steps.”
Bill Harvey added: “As a main thoroughfare for entering and leaving the High Street it is vitally important that the infrastructure is up to the mark.
“This project, allied to the recent upgrade of the Esplanade Multi Storey car park, demonstrates that commitment and collaboration can achieve results.”
