An emergency callout to a pot which caught fire on a cooker in Burntisland drew a huge response this morning.
Three fire engines, a height platform, two police cars and an ambulance attended the premises in Somerville Square, only to discover that the fire was nowhere near as bad as had been initially reported.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told the Press that a call reporting the incident had stated that it was believed that someone was trapped within the property.
“However when we got there that wasn’t the case and it was just a pot on a cooker which had caught fire,” said the spokesman.
“Two hosereel jets quickly put it out and we ventilated the premises within 20 minutes of receiving the callout.”
Social media was buzzing with local residents asking what was going on.
