Potential Crimewatch feature offers renewed hope for Bryant family

Allan Bryant Snr, the father of the missing Glenrothes man, says the producers of the hit BBC programme have enquired to police investigating the disappearance with a view to featuring the case on a daytime version of the show.

The potential coverage, which Mr Bryant Snr understands is now being considered by broadcasting executives, would give the family and their supporters a huge boost and put their search for Allan back in the national spotlight.

The family have already presented two petitions, the second which consisted of over 8000 signatures, calling for Allan to be included in the programme.

“The programme makers at the BBC have been in discussion with police regarding Allan’s disappearance and we are very hopeful that it will be included, it’s looking very promising, although we have not yet had any confirmation,” said Mr Bryant Snr.

“We’ve been campaigning to get Allan’s story on the programme for over two years now, with this sort of national exposure it could bring that vital new piece of evidence that help us find our son and end this nightmare,” he added.

Allan, 23 at the time of his disappearance, has not been seen since leaving Styx nightclub in Glenrothes in the early hours of Sunday, November 3, 2013.

Despite police undertaking the biggest missing person search ever undertaken in Fife, Allan’s whereabouts remain a mystery.

A recent three-day police search of woodland close to the ‘Secret Bunker’, a former cold war military facility near St Andrews, which is now a popular tourist attraction, also failed to throw up any new leads.

“We remain positive and will never give up our search for Allan, hopefully this will provide the breakthrough we need,” Mr Bryant Snr added.
