Protecting our green belts
Local environmental organisation STEPAL has organised a public meeting to consider the future of the handful of green belts in Scotland in the light of increasing pressures for development.
Speakers will include Duncan Campbell of the Association for the Protection of Rural Scotland and the Cockburn Association, local campaigner Penny Uprichard and MSP Willie Rennie will chair the meeting and provide the Holyrood perspective.

Hide AdMary Jack, chairman of STEPAL, said: “St Andrews Green Belt has been under threat from development since its establishment in 2012. Managing the issues of development and conservation will be a key issue.”
The meeting is at Hope Park and Martyrs Church Hall on Thursday (October 6) at 7.30pm.
