A FULL day fundraiser is to be held at a Methilhill pub in aid of a prominent cancer charity.
Regulars and staff at the Douglas Arms will hold the event on October 7 and an appeal has been launched for local singers or performers to get involved.
The chosen charity of the pub will be Fife’s Maggie’s Centre, selected after one regular was diagnosed with cancer late last year.
Thankfully she is now on the road to recovery, but Kelly McWilliams from the Douglas Arms said patrons are still keen to do their bit for the cause, which offers support to those dealing with the disease.
She said: “Her husband who sadly passed with this deadly disease, also used the centre.
“We, as a team and a community, would now like to do our bit to give something back to the excellent cause.”
As well as musical entertainment other events have been planned to raise cash, including auctions and various stalls.
Two customers, Alan Moreland and Steven Bone, are doing a bungee jump at Killiecrankie and already more than £150 has been raised in just a week.
A Just Giving page has been set up at www.justgiving.com/mobyandfudge for those who wish to donate.
Anybody who is interested in performing is asked to get in touch with the pub directly.
