Markinch Community Council is to host a public meeting later this month to discuss long-standing concerns over traffic congestion and parking issues in the town.
Particular focus will be given to concerns over the lack of parking and illegally parking close to the school and to problems encountered in the streets close to Markinch train station.
Angela High, community council chairman, told the Gazette the meeting had been long overdue.
“The aim is to come up with a solution to the parking concerns and make the area safer for children to negotiate when going to and from school,” said Angela.
“We also would like to address the many concerns that have been raised by residents about people parking their cars in local streets instead of the station car park.
“It’s a big problem for residents not being able to park outside their own homes.”
Representatives from Fife Council and police will also be attending.
The meeting takes place at The Bowling Club, Beatson Street on Wednesday, April 22 from 7.oo p.m.
