Recognition for creating equal opportunities in the workplace

Hosted by Opportunities Fife Partnership, the awards will recognise the success of businesses, organisations and individuals in Fife who excel in promoting the employment of people who face disadvantages in the labour market.

People may experience disadvantage in finding and keeping a job due to personal issues, disability or health conditions, lack of work experience, skills or qualifications.

These awards specifically acknowledge determination, resourcefulness and originality in creating equal opportunities for all in the work place.

All shortlisted nominees will be invited to an awards ceremony on December 9 at The Bay Hotel, Burntisland.

Fife Provost Jim Leishman, said: “This event is fantastic at showing how far people can go, when they are given support to realise their potential in the world of work.”

And Councillor Antony Martin, chairman of Opportunities Fife Partnership, added: “Working in partnership with Fife’s employers, we ensure people who face disadvantage, for whatever reason, are given the opportunity to secure and succeed in a job.

“These awards highlight to employers that everyone who wants to work deserves a chance to show what they can do.”
