Residents urged to make their voices heard on Persimmon's plan for Wormit

Housing giant Persimmon Homes has told Fife Council that it intends to lodge a planning application for the site, at Wormit Farm in Naughton Road, part of which is zoned for housing in the local development plan.

Because of the size of the application, Persimmon is required to hold a public consultation, which is planned for December 1 at the East Church Hall.

Persimmon says it hopes to build a wide range of houses accommodating some 150 families, with a ‘significant’ number of them being affordable.

However, a number of locals have expressed concerns that the development would be too large and that existing infrastructure and facilities such as schools and doctors would be unable to cope.

Local councillor Tim Brett is not permitted to comment on the proposed development as he sits on the committee that will consider the application – but he’s urging residents to make their voices heard.

“The consultation will be held between 3pm and 7pm on December 1,” he said.

“There has been a lot of interest in this proposed development and I hope as many people as possible will go along to hear more and to express their views.”
