The Templehall Cafe

Dunearn Drive, Kirkcaldy

The Templehall Cafe is a cosy venue on Dunearn Drive in Kirkcaldy. With eight tables, soft lighting and warm decor, the cafe is a little pocket of luxury in a rather busy area of the town.

I was greeted with a friendly welcome from Gavin, the owner, and was given time to have a good look over the menu.

The cafe offers a wide variety of foods from baked potatoes, toasties, paninis and hot filled rolls with a range of different fillings, to fish and chips, burgers, all day breakfasts and tasty looking cakes.

After much debate, I finally opted for the simple choice of a cheese toastie.

Despite being close to lunchtime and a bit busy, there wasn’t a long wait for my food to arrive which was all freshly made.

I was delighted and pleasantly surprised when my plate was set down in front of me.

Along with the toastie, there was a good helping of freshly mixed salad drizzled with dressing and a side of nachos and sweet chilli dipping sauce.

Nachos as part of a salad? Sounds like a stroke of absolute genius to me.

It really was a good sized portion - in fact, I knew instantly that it would be a stuggle for me to finish it all, something that you wouldn’t expect from the very reasonable price.

But I made a good stab at clearing my plate and really enjoyed the meal.

With the wide selection of really delicious looking cakes on offer, it would be rude not to try one.

So I tucked into a really good cream and apple filled pasty smothered in sweet chocolate icing.

Open from 7.00 a.m until, Templehall Cafe would be the perfect location for a quick bite to eat, a filling meal or lunch on the go as a selection of take away food is also available.

The staff are really friendly and you feel instantly welcome and there’s a real family/community feel to the place.

With great baby changing facilities and high chairs and a kids menu available, it makes the perfect place to take the family at any time of the day.

And would I go back? I’m already planning what to have on my next visit.
