It’s been three years since Dara O Briain completed his last stand up tour.
But after his sell-out show in Dunfermline on Wednesday night that gap in his live shows is irrelevant as he still has what it takes to keep a crowd entertained.
There was a lot of love in the room for the Irishman who provided many laughs throughout his set.
The subjects covered throughout the evening were varied with everything from popular TV dramas to things we teach our children and Dara’s adventure down the Zambezi for Comic Relief to dancing, with Dara showing off some of his moves.
Chat from the audience brought to light topics such as beekeeping and greenkeeping and of course, death by cabbages.
A special gift of a Jelly Baby left on the stage at the interval seemed to make the comedian uneasy at first unsure why it had been left there, but the sweet soon had a great view of the audience looking out from the stage for the rest of the show.
Dara has become a huge household name in recent years through all his television work, but seeing him keep an audience captive with his storytelling and jokes for two hours showed just how comfortable he is doing what he started out doing, performing live on stage.
If you missed out on seeing him this time, maybe he’ll return in the future as he seemed to like the venue.
And if he comes back, which we hope he does, then make sure you don’t miss out on tickets the next time.
