Road delays after car goes on fire

A road was blocked this morning after a car went on fire in Fife.

Police were alerted to the incident on the B9389 at Blebocraigs at around 8.50am this morning.

The fire had a knock-on effect to traffic and local bus services, which saw delays this morning, but there were no injuries.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 8.45am on Monday, February 12 to reports of a vehicle fire.

“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the B939, near Blebocraigs, where firefighters extinguished the fire.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area had been made safe.

“There were no casualties.”

Police confirmed they had been in attendance after being called by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, but the incident was made safe at around 10am.
