Major roadworks start tonight which will see a section of the A92 between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes closed over the weekend.
The road between Redhouse Roundabout in Kirkcaldy and Bankhead Roundabout in Glenrothes, heading north, will be closed from 7.30pm tonight October 23) until 6.30am on Monday (October 26).
Northbound vehicles will be diverted off the A92 at the Chapel junction and then diverted via the B981, B922 and B921 to re-join the A92 at Bankhead Roundabout.
The £320,000 resurfacing work is part of a programme to upgrade the A92 - this section of the road is used by around 16,204 vehicles every day - and follows resurfacing improvements made to the southbound carriageway last month, with further resurfacing on the route planned for later in the year.
Elsewhere on the A92 overnight works to resurface the A92 Crossgates southbound offslip, planned for Sunday (October 25) have been postponed.
New dates for this section of resurfacing will be announced later.
