THIS year’s line-up for Kirkcaldy’s biggest music festival has been revealed.
Rock The Rovers will return for its eighth year this summer, promising great bands and the opportunity to help raise cash for charity.
The date for the gig at Kitty’s and Kandy in Hunter Street is Sunday, August 26 and things will be a little different this time.
Gavin Quinn, organiser, explained: “The format has changed slightly in that we’ve got the main stage this year which is going to be all bands and on the other stage we’re going to have acoustic acts, solos and duos.”
The music event started as a bid to raise money for Raith Rovers during the Fife Free Press backed Reclaim The Rovers campaign in 2005, but it has expanded year on year.
Five charities will benefit from this year’s musical extravaganza: Dyslexia Fife, Alzheimers Scotland, The Neuro Foundation, Diabetic Society, Fife Young Carers and Raith Rovers FC.
Those acts already lined up to play are Joe’s Band, Slipstream, State of Emergency, Charles Wood, Andy Chung, Folk That, Mark Grant/Sandy Power, The Minders, Lithium, Bad Boogaloo, The Swank, Dennis Alexander, Janey Kirk, No1 Sun, Cousin Ken’s Nephews, Lionspiritmusic, The Glitch, Ross Morrison and The David Latto Band.
