Children at Kirkcaldy North Primary School will now be safer when out walking on the roads thanks to their local Specsavers, which has donated a set of high visibility vests to the school.
Specsavers Kirkcaldy gave the vests to the school’s P1 class as a continuation of its support for the charity Brake and its Road Safety Week campaign.
The annual campaign aims to heighten awareness of the extent of incidents on our roads, and helps people to take steps to prevent needless injuries or deaths all year round.
The children have already been wearing the vests when walking to and from school and on class trips.
Kathryn Thompson, store director of Specsavers in Kirkcaldy, said: “It’s really important for children to be aware of how to stay as safe as possible when near roads.
“We’re delighted to be able to give these high visibility vests for the whole class to use and to offer the children a little bit of extra advice on how to be seen and what to look out for on their way to and from school.”
