A last ditch attempt to raise money for a Leven woman in desperate need of urgent medical treatment is being held in a Glenrothes salon on Saturday.
Laura Imrie ( 33) is suffering from a fungal infection following a kidney transplant 13 years ago.
Due to a complicated medical history, the condition is not easily treatable.
“This is such a traumatic story,” said Helena Berg of Concept Hair and Beauty. “We want to raise £5000 to get her across to Spain as quick as possible, where there is a doctor who thinks he can help treat her.”
Laura became a client of the salon after utilising their NHS wig fitting service.
She is also a cousin of one of the beauty therapists.
“Laura is the same age as me,” explained Helena. “It feels close to my heart and going through this must be just devastating.”
Buff Butlers serving cocktails will be just one of the eye catching attractions on offer at Concept Hair on Saturday when the doors open at 4pm.
A styling bar, manicure bar, Dermalogica facials will be offering services for a charge, all of which will go towards Laura’s cause.
A bar will be available during the event serving drinks provided by Stiffys as well as a DJ playing tropical music.
Fantastic prizes can also be won at a raffle donated by Millennium Gym, Robertson’s fine art, Beautified, Heavenly Goodies and many more.
“I am willing to do whatever it takes to survive so I am asking for all you generous, kind people out there to help me fight for my life and help me raise up to £5000 for my treatment,” Laura said on her online donation page.
