Scotland's top authors to help budding writers at workshop in Glenrothes

Budding authors who want to improve their writing skills are encouraged to get along to a workshop with some of Scotlands top writers at the Rothes Halls this weekend.

They’re invited to sign up for an afternoon with Scottish authors Doug Johnstone, Zoe Venditozzi and Adrian Searle on Saturday, November 26 to hone their creative writing skills as part of Book Week Scotland.

Potential wordsmiths can explore whether the adage that everyone has at least one book inside them is true as they learn the tricks of the trade from some of the industry’s best.

They’ll enjoy a masterclass with Edinburgh-based Johnstone is also an acclaimed journalist and musician, whose seventh novel ‘The Jump’ was published last year; novelist and teacher Venditozzi, who has been enjoying a stint as writer-in-residence at palliative care provider Roxburghe House in Aberdeen, or Glasgow-based Searle of Freight Books, who is also the co-founding editor of Gutter, Scotland’s leading literary magazine.

Registration for the Write On! workshops – delivered in partnership with Fife Cultural Trust – are designed for adults only and start from 1pm on the day.
