Pupils from Viewforth High School spent Friday morning all together in their new building at the Windmill Community Campus.
Pupils had been given tours of the building in smaller groups throughout last week, but today was the first time they had all come together under their new roof.
The £.. million facility includes Viewforth and Rosslyn School for children with additional needs, as well as a council local office, Fife Cultural Trust library, community sports facilities and other community activities.
Here we take a look inside the new facility, which has open plan dining facilities, individual pupil lockers, the latest technology, a lecture theatre style assembly hall, state of the art sports pitches and much more.
Rosslyn School, which will open to pupils in August, has all the latest facilities, including a stunning sensory room, electronic hoists and an inclusive playground.
Councillor Neil Crooks, chairman of the Kirkcaldy area committee, said: “This is a new way of working for Fife Council where we are able to provide state-of-the-art high schools which will incorporate a range of community facilities, all under one roof. This community approach has a range of benefits for pupils, parents, the wider community and the Council.”
