Series of raids across area in crackdown on home grown

WEEKEND drug raids were carried out on homes from Cellardyke to East Wemyss.

Officers from Levenmouth searched a house in Methil on Friday and recovered drugs, thought to be methadrone, valium and ecstacy, valued at £2400, as well as a quantity of cash. A 40-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man are being reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Saturday saw officers search a house in East Wemyss where they found cannabis plants worth £15,400.

A 21-year-old man is being reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

They also searched a house in Buckhaven and recovered more cannabis plants, with a street value of £4200, with a 32-year-old man being reported in connection with this seizure.

A day later, a house was searched in Cellardyke and cannabis plants worth £1400 were recovered.

A 48-year-old man is being reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Superintendent Alex Duncan, in charge of operations, said: “ This was a productive weekend with a considerable amount of drugs removed from the streets of Fife.”
